This page decodes the current line-up in plain language: which family fits which room, what the names actually mean, and what a properly designed Yealink room includes. One quote says MeetingBar A50. The other says MVC S50. Same device?
Almost — and the difference is a Windows PC. This confusion sits at the centre of almost every Yealink enquiry we receive.
The same bar, two different rooms. On its own, the MeetingBar A50 runs Teams on its own Android processor — complete, no extra hardware. Add a Windows mini-PC to the setup and the bar switches to USB mode, the PC runs Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, and Yealink gives the combination a different name: MVC S50. Both names are technically correct — the same bar, two different room configurations. But without the explanation, the two look like separate devices when one is simply the other plus a mini-PC, a touch console and a different licence path.
Multiply that by the whole catalogue — bars named A, bundles named S, cameras named UVC and SmartVision, boards, ceiling audio with its own family name — and the confusion is complete. What a complete Yealink quotation contains — five lines that keep the room right
A Yealink quotation can vary significantly on the same model — sometimes for reasons that only become clear after installation. The difference almost always traces to five lines that either appear on the quotation or don't. The generation — every device named against Yealink's current range, so you know exactly what each quote contains. The brain and the licence — Android on the bar, a Windows mini-PC, or your laptop — each with its own licence path, stated in writing. The audio reach — a nine-metre room needs more than a bar's built-in microphones, so expansion mics or ceiling audio appear as their own clear lines. The staging and installation — mounting, cabling and configuration listed in full, so a boxed device becomes a working room with no surprises. The tuning and handover — the afternoon that separates a system from a gadget.

The Yealink range in eight families — which one is your room?
Every Yealink product belongs to one of eight families. Name the family, and the model shortlists itself.
The two failures we see most: a bar installed where the table runs past its microphone range — usually 7+ metres — and an EOL model quoted at full price because the generation had already moved. Both are preventable with one question at the start: which generation is this, and does the audio reach the back row?
Yealink refreshed the whole range — here's what replaced what
The line-up has moved fast in the last few years. If you know an earlier model, this map gives you today's equivalent — so you're always comparing in the current generation.
MVC 400–940 & MVC II → MVC S-Series
The Microsoft Teams Rooms line moved to the MVC S-series — current Windows mini-PC (MCore 4), faster AI compute, current Microsoft certification, and the full Copilot-era feature set. If you knew the MVC940, the S-series is its direct successor, and the S50 sits closest to it in spirit.
MeetingEye & VC-series → MeetingBar A-Series
The classic MeetingEye units and VC endpoints such as the VC400, VC800 and VC880 evolved into today's all-in-one bars — the same job, now in one body with camera, microphones, speakers and native Teams or Zoom built in. If you ran a VC-series room before, the A-series is where that story continues.
Accessories moved with the range
Accessories moved with the bars — and this is where quotes for "the same model" quietly diverge. The VCM35 is the current wired microphone (VCM34's connector is compatible). The PA20 sharing pod replaced the WPP20. The CPW65 is the current wireless mic. The CTP25 console replaced the CTP20 and added the one-cable wiring trick. Pairing current accessories with current devices keeps firmware and warranty support running long into the system's life.

The licence line is where quotes quietly diverge: a native room carries a per-room, per-year platform licence; a BYOD room carries none. Neither answer is wrong — it simply belongs in writing. Our quotations state the licence position as its own line on every system, exactly as our divisible rooms page documents for every native room.
Which Yealink for which room — sized from the last seat back
The MeetingBars map cleanly to room size: A10 and A25 seat 2–5 people, the A40 5–12, the A50 7–15. Above that, the range changes species — SmartVision multi-lens cameras and AVHub-directed systems take over, because past a certain depth one bar cannot see or hear every seat.
The numbers assume what our large meeting rooms page teaches: a bar's microphones reach roughly six metres and its lens must still deliver readable faces at the last seat. A 7.5-metre boardroom is not "an A50 room with two people squeezed" — it's the boundary where ceiling microphones and real optical zoom start earning their price. Send the room depth with your enquiry and the family answers itself — sizing the room before it's built is the whole craft.

The huddle room
An A25 on the wall, CTP25 on the table, one cable between them. Native Teams or Zoom, five people, done — the highest satisfaction-per-dirham install in the range.
The standard boardroom
Triple cameras frame every seat. If your IT team runs Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows, this room is the MVC S50. If they prefer the Android bar running natively on Teams or Zoom, same bar on the same wall — a one-day decision, not a locked-in one. Expansion microphones only if the table runs past the bar's built-in pickup reach. The most common Teams Rooms setup in Business Bay and DIFC medium boardrooms runs on the MVC S50 or A50.
The large room
SmartVision 80's four lenses or UVC86 pairs under AVHub direction, SkySound overhead. Government entities in Abu Dhabi and free-zone HQs in JAFZA typically run AVHub-directed systems with ceiling audio — the room that fails the bar test by depth, not by headcount. Every system goes through our Dubai facility before it reaches the site: firmware brought current, platform enrolled where credentials are provided, console paired to the PC, camera-control verified, and each carton labelled for the room it becomes. 4 — Installation & setup.
