Description

Fanvil H5W WiFi Hotel IP Phone, 2 SIP Lines, 3.5-Inch Colour Screen Dubai

The hotel floor is open for refurbishment for six days. Rooms are painted, bedside tables are changed, Wi-Fi is already running, and the contractor has one awkward problem left: the old analogue guest-room phone. Pulling new Cat6 to every bedside turns a light refresh into civil work. Leaving the old phone behind makes the room look dated before the guest even checks in.

This is where the Fanvil H5W makes sense. It is a WiFi hotel IP phone with a proper colour screen, programmable service keys, HD voice, and PoE as a wired option. For hotels, serviced apartments, clinics, staff accommodation, and guest villas in Dubai, it gives the project team a way to replace room phones without treating every room like a new office desk.

Vector Digital Systems supplies Fanvil H5W from Dubai for hospitality projects, floor-by-floor refreshes, and multi-site rollouts. We stage the phones before dispatch: extensions registered, provisioning template applied, service keys named, test calls made, and quantities packed per floor or building. Supply from Dubai since 2009.

What the H5W is

The Fanvil H5W is a hotel-room IP phone with built-in 2.4GHz WiFi, 2 SIP lines, a 3.5-inch colour display, 6 programmable DSS keys, 26 keys in total, HD voice, and H.264 video decoding. It can run wirelessly over the hotel Wi-Fi network, or it can be connected by Ethernet where cabling already exists.

It is not a normal office phone moved into a hotel room. The shape, display, key layout, and service-key use case are built around guest rooms and hospitality service points. Reception, housekeeping, room service, emergency, concierge, clinic desk, maintenance, and operator can all be mapped to the six DSS keys, depending on the hotel’s call-flow design.

For a Dubai hotel refresh, that matters. The guest does not want a directory sheet taped beside the phone. The GM does not want a room phone that looks older than the new furniture. The IT team does not want 180 rooms manually configured after delivery. The H5W gives the room a simple screen phone, and staging gives the installer a labelled device that already knows its extension.

2 SIP lines — enough for a guest-room phone, but not a promise of two trunk calls

The H5W supports 2 SIP lines. In hotel terms, that means the phone can register accounts and handle call appearances for the room. It does not mean the room can make two outside trunk calls whenever it wants. The actual number of outside calls depends on the PABX, the SIP trunk capacity, and the call policy set for guest rooms.

A guest-room example: Room 1208 has one room extension. A guest calls reception, puts the call on hold, receives a callback, or calls room service. Two SIP lines give enough call-handling room for that use. It is not the same requirement as a reception desk, where a phone may need dozens of visible BLF keys and many call appearances.

Sizing the H5W for hotel rooms

Use the H5W for guest rooms, serviced apartments, clinics, and hospitality desks where 2 SIP lines and 6 service keys are enough. Use a larger Fanvil desk phone at reception if the operator needs BLF visibility across many extensions. Send us your room count, service-key list, and PABX platform on WhatsApp and we confirm the right model.

The WiFi reason: room-phone replacement without opening every wall

The strongest reason to choose the H5W is the built-in WiFi. It supports 2.4GHz wireless networking, which suits many hotel-room deployments where the access points are already planned for guest internet. That makes it a practical option when a hotel in Deira, Bur Dubai, JLT, Business Bay, or Al Barsha wants to remove older room phones without a new cable pull to every bedside table.

There is one honest rule: WiFi coverage is call coverage. A phone can only perform as well as the wireless network in that room. If the room has weak WiFi near the bedside table, the phone call will reflect it. For project quantities, we ask where the phone will sit, which access points serve the corridor, and whether the hotel wants wired fallback through PoE in selected rooms.

For new builds, wired PoE is still the cleanest design. For refurbishments, WiFi can save days of cabling work. The H5W gives the project team both routes: wireless where the room is already covered, Ethernet where a cable is available, and PoE where the switch supports it.

Six DSS keys for guest services

The 6 DSS keys are the part the guest touches most. They can be labelled and programmed for the hotel’s own service flow: Reception, Room Service, Housekeeping, Laundry, Emergency, Concierge, Clinic, Security, or Wake-up Call. For serviced apartments, the same keys can route to front desk, maintenance, security gate, cleaning, leasing office, and operator.

In a 120-room property, those keys should not be programmed one phone at a time during handover. We prepare the template before dispatch. Room 101 gets extension 101. Room 102 gets extension 102. The same six service keys are applied across the batch, and test calls confirm that service routing works before the boxes leave our Dubai staging bench.

This is the difference between buying a phone and buying a hotel phone project. The H5W has the hardware. The deployment decides whether the guest gets a useful service keypad or six blank buttons nobody understands.

Colour screen and video decoding — useful in more places than a hotel room

The 3.5-inch colour screen is not only for caller ID. The H5W supports H.264 video decoding, which means it can display video from a compatible SIP door phone, intercom, or camera source when the system is configured for it. In a hospitality project, that opens useful small-site roles: serviced apartment reception, clinic entrance desk, VIP villa, staff accommodation office, or a private floor where a room or desk needs to see who is calling from the entrance.

It is not the same as a full video receptionist console. For that, use a larger Fanvil reception phone or indoor station. But for a compact hotel-style phone, the ability to show a video image is worth planning into the project instead of discovering it after installation.

When a project includes a Fanvil door phone, we confirm whether the H5W position needs video viewing, audio-only calling, or simple service-key routing. For reception-heavy desks, compare the full desk-phone range in the Fanvil IP phone matrix.

Power and network truth for the H5W

The H5W can be powered through PoE when connected by cable, or through a 5V/2A power supply when the room does not use PoE. For hotel refurbishments, this choice affects the site plan. PoE is clean when a cable is already present. A local adapter is practical where the phone is placed near a bedside socket and the project uses WiFi.

Power adapter to be confirmed with stock batch

The official H5W power specification lists 5V/2A or PoE, but box contents can vary by supply batch and region. We do not assume the adapter is inside the box. For WiFi room projects, we quote the required power supply in the same offer so the installer does not discover a missing PSU on handover day.

Network speed is 10/100 Mbps, not Gigabit. That is acceptable for a hotel-room phone. It is not a workstation desk phone where a PC passthrough should be Gigabit. The H5W includes two RJ45 ports, one marked for network and one bridged to network, but the main reason to specify this model is the room-phone role, not office PC passthrough.

For new hotel floors in Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or Ras Al Khaimah, we prefer PoE when the cabling plan allows it. For older rooms where opening the wall is not acceptable, WiFi plus the correct power supply is often the better project route.

Current deployment behaviour: why staging matters on WiFi phones

WiFi hotel phones are more sensitive to preparation than wired desk phones. The network name, security mode, IP behaviour, extension, room number, and service keys all need to be correct before the installer starts opening boxes on-site. The H5W supports common enterprise wireless security methods, and it can be prepared for the hotel network before dispatch.

Recent official support work around H-series WiFi behaviour makes the staging step even more important in mixed wired and wireless sites. In plain project language: avoid confusing the phone with two competing network paths, avoid duplicate addressing, and decide whether each room is WiFi-first or cable-first before the batch is prepared.

For a hotel contractor, this avoids the usual handover mess. No one wants a corridor full of opened cartons while the IT team types WiFi passwords into 80 phones. We load the template, apply the service-key layout, register the extensions, and test sample calls before dispatch. For larger quantities, cartons can be labelled by room range: 101–120, 201–220, 301–320.

Platform compatibility in Dubai hotel projects

The H5W is a SIP phone, so it can register to common PABX platforms used in UAE hospitality and commercial projects, including 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, and Asterisk. It can also sit behind business SIP services from Etisalat and du when the site design calls for it.

For hotel deployments, the PABX design matters as much as the phone model. Room-to-room calls, reception calls, emergency routing, wake-up services, housekeeping groups, and outside-call restrictions should be agreed before the phones are staged. A guest room should not behave like a manager desk. A back-office phone should not behave like a guest-room phone.

Vector Digital Systems handles supply, staging, and installation across the UAE. For project batches, we ask for the room list, extension plan, WiFi SSID details, service-key names, and PABX platform. Then we prepare the H5W phones in Dubai before dispatch to site.

H3W, H5W, H601W, or H602W — Fanvil hotel WiFi comparison

Model Best role Key difference Project note
H3W Basic WiFi guest-room phone Lower room-phone option Good where screen and service-key needs are lighter
H5W — this phone Hotel rooms and serviced apartments needing a screen 3.5-inch colour display, 2 SIP lines, 6 DSS keys, 2.4GHz WiFi Best fit for room refreshes where 2.4GHz coverage is already proven
H601W Compact guest rooms and service points Newer compact WiFi hotel model with fewer service keys Useful for bathrooms, corridors, staff areas, and simple room positions
H602W New WiFi 6 hotel-room projects Dual-band 2.4/5GHz WiFi and WiFi 6 in the newer H-series line Good step-up when the hotel wants a newer wireless standard
Verdict Choose the H3W if the room needs a simpler WiFi phone. Choose the H5W if the room needs a colour screen, 6 DSS service keys, and a proven 2.4GHz WiFi deployment. Choose the H601W for compact new hotel positions. Choose the H602W if the project brief asks for dual-band WiFi and WiFi 6.

Front office and operator desks should be sized separately. A room phone handles guest calls. A reception phone handles transfers, BLF, queues, and busy-hour call control. For that role, see the Fanvil IP phone range or ask us to map hotel room phones and front-desk phones in one quote.

Pricing, stock, staging, and project supply

Fanvil H5W pricing is quoted in AED by quantity. We do not publish fixed prices because hospitality projects vary: WiFi or PoE, with or without PSU, room quantity, staging scope, delivery location, and installation requirement all affect the final offer.

For project quantities, the quote can include H5W room phones, Fanvil reception phones, power supplies, delivery, VAT breakdown, staging, and installation. Typical project quantities are 10+, 50+, 100+, and floor-by-floor batches for hotel refurbishments.

Stock & Projects: Fanvil H5W supply from Dubai. Same-day quote in AED on WhatsApp. Supply and installation across all 7 UAE emirates. Project quantities and MEA export — FOB Dubai pricing on request.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Fanvil H5W work with our 3CX / Grandstream UCM / Yeastar hotel PABX?

Yes. The H5W is a SIP hotel phone and can register to common UAE PABX platforms including 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, and Asterisk. For hotel projects, Vector Digital Systems stages the phones with room extensions, service keys, and test calls before dispatch.

Does the Fanvil H5W come with a power adapter, or do I need PoE?

The H5W supports PoE and 5V/2A power input. Adapter inclusion must be confirmed against the Dubai stock batch, so we quote the PSU as an add-on where required. If the room uses PoE, one cable powers and connects the phone. If the room uses WiFi, plan the power supply at the same time.

What does 2 SIP lines actually mean — can I make 2 calls at once?

2 SIP lines means the phone can handle registered accounts and call appearances for the room. It does not guarantee two outside trunk calls. Outside calling depends on the PABX, Etisalat or du trunk capacity, and the hotel’s guest-call policy.

Fanvil H5W vs H602W — what is the difference?

H5W is a 2.4GHz WiFi hotel phone with a 3.5-inch colour screen, 2 SIP lines, and 6 DSS keys. H602W is the newer step-up for projects asking for dual-band 2.4/5GHz WiFi and WiFi 6. Choose H5W for proven 2.4GHz room-phone refreshes; choose H602W when the hotel wireless plan is built around newer dual-band WiFi.

Does Vector Digital Systems configure the H5W phones before delivery?

Yes. Staging is standard for project quantities: extension registration, provisioning template, room-number mapping, DSS service-key programming, and test calls before dispatch. We can also pack and label phones by room range or floor.

Can the H5W work on our existing hotel WiFi?

Yes, if the room has stable 2.4GHz WiFi coverage where the phone will sit. WiFi coverage is call coverage. For hotels in Dubai and across the UAE, we recommend checking room signal at the bedside or desk location before ordering large quantities.

Can we put hotel service keys such as Reception, Housekeeping, and Room Service on the H5W?

Yes. The H5W has 6 DSS keys that can be programmed for common hotel services such as Reception, Housekeeping, Room Service, Laundry, Emergency, Concierge, or Security. We apply the agreed key plan during staging.

Is VoIP legal in the UAE and will the H5W work with Etisalat or du?

Business VoIP over licensed services is standard in the UAE under TRA regulation. The H5W can register through the site PABX using Etisalat or du business SIP services, depending on the approved telecom design for the hotel or serviced apartment project.

Is the Fanvil H5W covered under Fanvil warranty in the UAE?

Yes. Vector Digital Systems supplies the H5W as an authorised Fanvil supplier in Dubai with Fanvil manufacturer warranty handling for supported UAE deployments and export orders.
