It is wedding season in a Dubai ballroom and the partition wall folds back for a 400-guest event — but an hour earlier, two separate corporate bookings each ran their own Teams call in what is now one room, on cameras and microphones nobody reconfigured by hand. A training centre hits exam day and needs its two classrooms to combine into one invigilation hall with a single camera feed covering every desk in the room. A corporate floor pulls its boardroom and meeting room together for an all-hands and expects one PC, not two, to carry the call, with every camera in the room actually working.

These are planning bands, not fixed quotes — deliberately wide and weighted to the high side because component and project pricing shifts through the year. Room dimensions, existing cabling runs, control-system choice and audio complexity all move the number. The bands narrow once partition layout and dimensions come through on WhatsApp.
The wall opens. Ten seconds later, one room exists.
The GM presses the combine button. A preset fires on the AVer MT500 matrix switcher. All four cameras and both speakerphones — which a moment ago belonged to two independent meeting rooms — reassign to a single Main PC. The separate Teams calls end, one combined room begins, and nothing in the ceiling or on the wall physically moved. That switch is what the MT500 makes possible: it never touches the cameras or speakerphones themselves, it changes which PC each USB device appears connected to, depending on the room's current state.
In the separate state, Room A's two CAM570 cameras and FONE700 speakerphone route to Room A's PC, and Room B's devices route to Room B's PC — two independent meetings, no crosstalk. The trigger can be the MT500's front panel, its Web GUI, or a connected control system wired to a partition position sensor. The design rule that applies regardless of trigger method: the switch should happen between meetings, not while a call is live, because reassigning USB devices takes them briefly offline.
The most common question in a divisible room procurement: can we just put a bar in each half?
Sometimes yes. A bar-per-room design keeps each room's all-in-one video bar independent and hands the meeting to one room's system when the wall opens — simpler, fewer moving parts, and the right answer for rooms that combine occasionally with a presenter in a fixed position. The honest limit: only that one bar's field of view covers the combined space, which leaves the far end of a long combined room poorly served.

Before you sign off: what is certain, and what gets verified on the bench
Some parts of this architecture are locked by AVer's own project design and travel unchanged from room to room. Other parts depend on the specific space, the meeting platform and the control system — and are validated on the bench before installation, not assumed from a brochure.
What is certain on every project: separate and combined states exist as designed presets on the MT500; USB resources genuinely reassign between rooms rather than duplicate; the control system trigger is programmable; and audio requires separate DSP validation because two speakerphones operating in one space create echo and gain risks that are real on every combined room and sized per project rather than assumed away.
What is validated per project: whether the specific meeting platform shows a single composed multi-camera view or lets the user select between feeds in combined mode — this is confirmed in writing with AVer and tested on the actual hardware combination before installation, not answered from a spec sheet. Partition sensor automation is also validated per control system, since the sensor triggers the control system rather than the MT500 directly.
The rule this discipline produces: nothing on a divisible room quotation from Vector Digital Systems is marked as confirmed until it has been confirmed. What has not been validated is stated as requiring validation — before the quote, not after the install.
The complete hardware list — nothing discovered after the invoice
A divisible room project carries more line items than a standard room install, and the surprises usually appear in the control layer and the cabling — not the cameras. The list below is the full demonstrated AVer architecture for a two-room system; the survey confirms which items change for your specific layout before any quotation is issued.
Each room runs two AVer CAM570 cameras, home-run to the MT500 over USB rather than wired straight to a room PC — each device gets its own cable back to the matrix location instead of daisy-chaining through the room, a cabling discipline that AVer's own project design specifies for reliable USB switching. Each room also runs one FONE700 ceiling speakerphone, one Room PC, and connects to the MT500 matrix switcher at the heart of the build. The control layer — MT500 front panel at minimum, a Crestron-class touch panel and partition sensor for automatic switching — sits above the hardware and is sized to how the room will be operated.
Displays, mounting hardware, cable conduit and the DSP for combined-room audio are scoped at survey and itemised separately, not bundled into a band that hides them.
If your partition opens more than once a week, this design pays for itself
If you run a ballroom, banquet hall or training centre where the wall opens at least once a week — sometimes twice in the same day — the switching has to be fast, reliable and operable by whoever is on shift, not just the AV team. Hotel properties in Dubai, Abu Dhabi and across the Gulf run exactly this pattern: two separate corporate bookings in the morning, one combined event in the afternoon, and the AV has to follow the partition without a site visit between sessions.

When a divisible room design is the wrong spend
A room that combines twice a year does not need voice-driven switching or a full control-system integration — Level 1 preset routing, or even a manual changeover at the MT500's front panel, covers it without paying for intelligence nobody will use often enough to justify it. Joining two independent audio zones into one physical space is an acoustics problem before it is a routing problem — a dedicated DSP is sometimes the only reliable way to stop two FONE700 systems, or two of any brand's speakerphones, from hearing and re-amplifying each other once the wall opens. That is a real cost line, not an afterthought, and it belongs in the design conversation before the quote, not discovered on installation day. Whether a specific room needs that DSP gets confirmed during design, not guessed at quote stage. Matrix switchers and control processors bought outside authorised supply carry no confirmed firmware path and no manufacturer relationship behind them if a preset stops routing correctly — a real risk on equipment this central to whether the room works at all.

The hardware is the smaller part of a divisible room budget. The control layer — what fires the preset, how automatically, and how it handles the edge cases — is what moves the number between Level 1 and Level 3.
