The SRV2KRI sits in the lower part of the rack, usually below the active IT equipment. In a 12U wall rack, it takes 2U. In a floor-standing cabinet, it normally sits near the bottom for weight balance and cable routing.

The 4 × IEC C13 outlets make it suitable for rack equipment with IEC C14 power inputs. For devices that use UAE 3-pin plugs, the right PDU or power cord arrangement needs to be planned. Do not fill a rack with random plug converters. It gets messy fast, and it is not how a server rack should be wired.

In a proper installation, the UPS feeds a rack PDU or selected critical devices. Non-critical equipment can be left outside the UPS load if runtime matters more than full-rack coverage. That choice depends on what must stay online during an outage.
