WiFi 6, 6E or 7 — What's Actually Worth Buying in the UAE Today
WiFi 6's gift to a busy building is sharing: OFDMA lets one access point serve dozens of devices at once instead of taking turns, and BSS coloring keeps your network sane when fifty others crowd the same air — the Marina tower reality. WiFi 6E then opened a third road: the 6 GHz band, clean spectrum with no legacy devices on it. WiFi 7 uses all three bands at once (Multi-Link Operation), cuts interference apart with preamble puncturing, and pushes more data per signal with 4096-QAM.
Now the part nobody tells you in this region. The UAE opened the lower 6 GHz band for WiFi back in 2020 — first in MENA — but the upper 6 GHz is assigned to mobile services, so WiFi 7's giant 320 MHz channels don't operate here. What does work, and works well: Multi-Link Operation, the puncturing, the cleaner lower band, and the raw speed headroom. Meanwhile Saudi Arabia has opened the full band — relevant if your sites span borders.

The Switch That Powers Your Phones — No Electrician, No Drilling
Older buildings in this region share one problem: power sockets are never where the phones and access points need to be. GWN7800-series managed PoE+ switches solve it with the cable you already have — one network cable per desk carrying data and power together, for desk phones, access points, intercoms and cameras. No new electrical points, no civil work, no approvals.
Per-port power monitoring shows exactly what each device draws, in the same dashboard as the phones themselves. One switch, one vendor, one screen — the wiring closet stops being a science project. For heavier floors, the new GWN780x Pro series carries the bigger PoE budgets and uplinks.
One bottleneck worth naming: a WiFi 7 access point behind a 1-gigabit switch is a sports car in a school zone. The GWN7721 series removes it — eight 2.5-gigabit ports, one to every access point, with 10G SFP+ uplinks to the core; the GWN7721P powers those APs over the same cable (PoE+), and its PoE watchdog quietly reboots a frozen camera or AP instead of sending an engineer up a ladder. A third model, the GWN7721PE with a 90-watt PoE++ port, is a brand-new catalogue addition — we confirm availability per project rather than promise it off the page.
The Ballroom Audio That Drifts Off-Sync — Fixed With One Click Per Port
Every AV integrator knows the call. The ballroom audio clicks and drifts an hour after handover. The ceiling mics echo on the far side of the room. The network gets blamed — because the microphones, the cameras, the speakers and the room control all ride on it now, and the switch underneath was never configured for them. Making an ordinary switch carry AES67, Dante or NDI streams properly used to mean a specialist, a console cable, and a day of multicast and clock tuning.
The GWN7800 Pro series ends that. Choose the preset per port — AES67, Dante or NDI — and the switch configures the VLANs, multicast handling and queue priorities itself. IEEE 1588 PTP keeps every microphone and loudspeaker sample-synchronized, the way one conductor keeps an orchestra together, and the switch detects AV streams and protects them ahead of ordinary file traffic. Sixty-watt PoE++ ports feed the PTZ cameras and powered loudspeakers that used to need their own power supplies, and the GWN7806 Pro models stack up to eight units with redundant power for the venues that cannot go dark.

Will GWN work with my existing Etisalat or du router?

Do you design and install the network, or just supply the equipment?
Both — most clients take both. Supply-only is available (equipment provisioned and shipped), but the common pattern is design plus install: a free site survey first, then the access-point and switch plan, cabling or PoE work as needed, configuration with voice priority, and a walkthrough test of every corner before handover.
