AVer's answer to a Teams room used to be three purchases
For years, building a Teams Rooms room on AVer meant a USB camera — excellent at its job — plus a Windows mini-PC you sourced separately, plus a touch console from wherever, three warranties and one integration exercise before the room made its first call. IT managers who asked "when does AVer do a proper MTR appliance?" got told to wait.

Built for the room where the policy already chose Windows
The CORE500 is not for every meeting room — it is for a specific IT decision. Somewhere above the AV budget, a policy was set: meeting rooms run Microsoft Teams Rooms on Windows. Certified. On the corporate device estate. Managed like every other endpoint. Not an Android bar, not a laptop with a good camera — the Windows edition, because that is where the capabilities the organisation standardised on actually live.
On Microsoft's current platform split, that means: multi-stream IntelliFrame, people recognition with name labels, Front Row, Copilot with Intelligent Recap, and Pro Management Portal fleet monitoring — Windows-edition capabilities, not available on Android bars. If your rooms need none of those, an Android bar or the stocked USB line is simpler and costs less, and we will say so on the quotation. If the mandate has landed, the CORE500 exists precisely for it.
The honest fit test: if nobody in your organisation has written the words "certified Teams Rooms on Windows" into a policy or a tender, start on the USB camera page instead — same rooms, smaller number.
The licence question nobody puts on a product page
The CORE500 runs Teams Rooms on Windows — which means the licence decision changes the running cost before the hardware decision does. The launch video shows the AI layer working: intelligent framing, name labels, recap. What it does not show is which Microsoft licence unlocks each of them, and that answer decides your per-room cost for the next three years.
Teams Rooms Basic is free, capped at 25 rooms per organisation, and covers core joining, sharing and calendar. On Microsoft's own documentation it does not include the AI layer. Teams Rooms Pro is the per-room licence that unlocks IntelliFrame, people recognition with name labels, Front Row, intelligent audio and the Pro Management Portal. Copilot splits once more: Pro on the room gives Intelligent Recap for that room; full Copilot in meetings — mid-meeting questions, personal action items — additionally requires Copilot for Microsoft 365 on the user.
For a twenty-room deployment in Dubai, that is the difference between a hardware budget and a hardware-plus-licence budget — visible before signing, or discovered after. The USB camera is not wrong. The mandate is different now.
Plenty of rooms run a USB camera into Teams and have done for two years without a complaint. Then the memo arrives: rooms move to certified Teams Rooms on Windows, managed endpoints, this financial year. The camera did nothing wrong. The requirement changed underneath it.
The upgrade is smaller than it sounds. The room stays — the display, the network run, usually the mounting. What changes is the device and the management layer: the CORE500 goes in as the certified endpoint, the room appears in the fleet portal, and the old USB camera moves to a huddle space or a desk where it keeps doing the job it always did.
And the reverse holds with equal honesty: rooms without the mandate do not need this kit. The stocked USB line covers the same physical rooms, from Dubai stock, for less — and staying there is the right call until the policy says otherwise.
"Regulated environments" names a buyer — and in the UAE, a checklist
AVer positioned the CORE500 explicitly for enterprise and regulated meeting environments. In the UAE that is not marketing language — it names specific buyers: the government fit-out, the financial services floor, the healthcare facility. Rooms where hardware clears a different checklist before it enters the building: certification, device management, security posture, and a paper trail for each.
AVer's own launch language is specific: performance, manageability and security are non-negotiable in the environments the CORE500 is built for — its words, not this page's. What that means structurally: a Windows-based Teams Rooms endpoint that joins the corporate estate and its management tooling, which is the requirement most regulated deployments start from. A formal certification and security list for the CORE500 has not been published yet — this section carries nothing implied and nothing rounded up, and the list lands here the day AVer publishes it.
