Yealink SIP-T44U Successor 12-Line GigE Desk Phone

Yealink T44U Replacement for Dubai Offices

The Yealink SIP-T44U was a reliable workhorse for standard office desks, branch users and reception extensions across Dubai. That generation is now part of the legacy T4x estate, and the correct current-generation replacement is the Yealink SIP-T73U. It keeps the practical 12-line business desk role, upgrades the range into the T7 platform, adds dual Gigabit Ethernet for modern 1Gbps office networks, supports EXP55 colour expansion modules, and gives buyers a cleaner path for new 3CX, Yeastar, Grandstream UCM and hosted SIP deployments. Vector Digital Systems LLC supplies, stages and supports Yealink phones in Dubai, UAE, since 2009.

SIP, Microsoft Teams or Zoom? Choose the Right Yealink Platform First

The SIP-T73U is a SIP desk phone. It is designed for SIP phone systems such as 3CX, Yeastar P-Series, Grandstream UCM, Asterisk, FreePBX and hosted PBX services. The most common Yealink buyer error is ordering a SIP phone for a Microsoft Teams-only office. In the T7 generation, Teams phones are a separate Yealink MP-series range — there is no Teams edition of the T73U or T44U replacement body, and a SIP phone cannot be field-reflashed into a Teams phone.

Your Platform Right Phone What You Need
SIP PBX — 3CX, Yeastar, UCM, Asterisk, hosted PBX SIP-T73U (this page) SIP credentials from your phone system
Microsoft Teams Yealink MP-series Teams phone — ask David for the current certified model Microsoft 365 tenant + Teams Phone licence per user
Zoom Phone Zoom-certified Yealink range — ask David Zoom Phone licence per user

PoE Truth — No Power Adapter in the Box

The Yealink SIP-T73U ships without a power adapter. It is powered by PoE from a network switch port. If your switch is not PoE-capable, ask David to add the matching Yealink power supply to the quote. This avoids the most common delivery-day surprise in UAE offices: the phone arrives, but the desk has no PoE. For desks using two or three EXP55 expansion modules, the external PSU is required regardless of PoE.

Gigabit Ethernet Matters When a Laptop Sits Behind the Phone

Many older desk phones in Dubai offices throttle the PC port to 100Mbps. The SIP-T73U moves the standard desk into the T7 generation with dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. Connect the phone to the switch and the laptop to the PC port, and the user keeps full 1Gbps passthrough for cloud files, Teams meetings on the laptop, CRM dashboards and large document transfers. For companies replacing T44U, T42S or other older desks, the phone refresh is also a desk-network upgrade.

Where the SIP-T73U Sits in the Yealink Range

The SIP-T73U is the current wired entry-mid T7 desk phone: stronger than the basic T31/T33 branch-phone tier, more economical than the 16-line T74U executive tier, and ideal for users who need a colour display, 12 SIP accounts, Gigabit passthrough and clean BLF key mapping. It is the correct successor path for many T44U and T43U desks where users do not need built-in Wi-Fi or a larger 4.3-inch display.

Where the T73U Works Best in Dubai

T44U and T43U estate refresh. If your Dubai office already runs older Yealink T4x phones, the SIP-T73U is the clean current-generation replacement for standard desks. It gives users the same practical desk-phone role with modern Gigabit networking, updated T7 security architecture and simpler provisioning for new deployments.

Branch offices and shared workstations. For sales offices in Business Bay, clinics in Deira, logistics branches in Jebel Ali, retail admin desks and back-office teams in Al Quoz, the T73U gives enough line capacity for active business users without moving into the larger executive-phone tier.

Reception desks that need BLF visibility. The SIP-T73U supports EXP55 expansion modules, so a reception desk can monitor extensions, speed dials and department lines with on-screen labels. For heavier operator desks with 30+ extensions, David may recommend stepping up to T74U or T74W for the larger display and 16-line capacity.

IT-led VoIP rollouts. The T73U is well suited for 3CX, Yeastar P-Series, Grandstream UCM, Asterisk and hosted PBX deployments where the IT team wants Gigabit passthrough, USB headset options, bulk provisioning and a consistent current-generation Yealink standard across multiple UAE sites.

Staging Before Dispatch

Vector Digital Systems stages every SIP-T73U before it leaves Dubai. We register the SIP account to your platform, load the provisioning template, configure BLF and speed-dial keys, test the dial plan, confirm codec priority and complete a live test call. For multi-phone rollouts, we can label devices by user, branch, extension or desk position before dispatch. For EXP55 setups, the key map is programmed and the required power situation is checked before delivery.

Export Yealink T73U from Dubai

Frequently Asked Questions — Yealink SIP-T73U

Is the Yealink T73U the replacement for the T44U?

Yes — for new product pages and current deployments, Vector Digital Systems treats the SIP-T73U as the correct current-generation replacement for the Yealink SIP-T44U and SIP-T43U desk-phone tier. It gives standard business users 12 SIP accounts, a 2.8-inch colour display, dual Gigabit Ethernet, USB functions and EXP55 expansion support.

Does the Yealink T73U work with Microsoft Teams?

The SIP-T73U is a SIP phone, not a Microsoft Teams phone. It works with SIP platforms such as 3CX, Yeastar, Grandstream UCM, Asterisk and hosted PBX. Yealink Teams phones are a separate MP-series range, and there is no Teams edition of the T73U. If your office uses Teams Phone, ask David for the current Teams-certified Yealink MP model and we will verify certification before quoting.

Does the Yealink T73U come with a power adapter, or do I need PoE?

The Yealink T73U does not include a power adapter. It is designed to run on Power over Ethernet from a PoE switch port. If your switch is not PoE-capable, ask David to add the matching Yealink PSU to your quote. If you use two or three EXP55 expansion modules, the external PSU is required regardless of PoE.

Will the T73U work with our 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar P-Series or existing SIP PABX?

Yes — the SIP-T73U is built for SIP phone systems and works with RFC-compliant SIP platforms including 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar P-Series, Asterisk, FreePBX and hosted PBX providers. Vector Digital Systems stages the phone with your SIP credentials and provisioning template before delivery.

T73U vs T73W — which one should I buy?

Choose the T73U when the desk has Ethernet cabling and you want the better-value wired model. Choose the T73W when the desk needs built-in Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.0, such as temporary offices, glass-partitioned meeting areas or locations where running a network cable is difficult. Both models serve the same 12-line entry-mid role.

Can I add EXP55 expansion modules to the T73U?

Yes — the T73U supports up to three EXP55 colour expansion modules. Each EXP55 gives 78 programmable keys, so a fully expanded desk can add 234 extra BLF or speed-dial keys. For heavier reception or supervisor desks, David may also recommend the T74U or T74W because they provide a larger screen and 16 SIP accounts.

Does the T73U support Gigabit passthrough for my laptop?

Yes — the T73U has dual Gigabit Ethernet ports. Connect the LAN port to your network switch and the PC port to your laptop, and the laptop keeps Gigabit passthrough. This is important in Dubai offices with 1Gbps desk networks, especially when replacing older phones that limited the PC port to 100Mbps.

Who is the Yealink authorised supplier in Dubai?

Vector Digital Systems LLC has supplied, configured and supported Yealink phones in Dubai since 2009. David handles Yealink product selection, project pricing, staging and warranty coordination. Phones are supplied with local support, so warranty handling does not require international courier claims.

What is the best Yealink IP phone for standard office desks in Dubai?

For standard wired office desks replacing older T44U or T43U phones, the SIP-T73U is the best current-generation choice. It has 12 SIP accounts, dual Gigabit Ethernet, a colour display and EXP55 support. For larger executive desks or busy reception users, the step-up recommendation is the T74U with 16 SIP accounts and a larger 4.3-inch display.

Does Vector Digital Systems export Yealink T73U phones from Dubai?

Yes — Vector Digital Systems exports Yealink T73U phones from Dubai to system integrators, telecom operators and corporate buyers in Oman, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Jordan, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Shipments are quoted FOB Dubai with commercial invoice, packing list and certificate of origin on request.

Does Vector Digital Systems configure the T73U before delivery?

Yes — every T73U can be staged before dispatch with SIP registration, provisioning template, BLF and speed-dial keys, dial-plan testing and a live test call. For multi-site rollouts, we can label each phone by extension, user or branch so the phones arrive ready for desk installation.
