Description

Fanvil X1SP Entry-Level PoE IP Phone, 2 SIP Lines, 128×48 Display Dubai

The mistake happens at the desk count stage. A Dubai office has 38 staff seats, one reception desk, and a PABX already chosen. Someone prices the same large phone for every user because the spec sheet looks safer. Then the phone budget becomes the problem, not the PABX.

Most staff desks do not need a console phone. They need a clear display, two SIP accounts, hold, transfer, conference, headset support, PoE, and a PC passthrough port. That is the Fanvil X1SP job. It is the small PoE desk phone you use when the project needs many working extensions, not one expensive handset repeated across the floor.

What the Fanvil X1SP is

The Fanvil X1SP is an entry-level SIP desk phone with PoE. It is built for staff extensions, small branch desks, back-office users, store counters, service teams, warehouse admin desks, and project rollouts where the buyer needs ten, twenty, or fifty phones that can be staged before dispatch.

The phone has 2 SIP lines, a 128×48 dot-matrix screen with backlight, HD voice on handset and speakerphone, a 1000-entry local phonebook, remote phonebook support, 600 call log entries, call hold, call transfer, call waiting, call forwarding, call parking, call pickup, 3-way conference, redial, do-not-disturb, auto answer, and voicemail indication when the PABX supports it.

For physical controls, the X1SP gives 34 keys in total. That includes 4 soft keys, 9 function keys, 2 line keys with LED indicators, 4 navigation keys, one OK key, 12 number keys, 3 volume and mute keys, and a hands-free key. Not a console. Not a receptionist phone. A practical staff desk phone.

Network connection is through two 10/100 Mbps RJ45 ports: one network port and one PC port bridged behind it. That lets a desk use one Cat6 point for both phone and computer where the speed requirement suits the user. In a new DMCC, JLT, Business Bay, or Al Quoz office fit-out, that saves switch ports and keeps the desk clean.

Where X1SP fits in a Dubai PABX project

Use the X1SP when the user needs a dependable extension, not a large key layout. Accounts desk. Admin desk. Small meeting room. Store counter. Warehouse office. Sales coordinator. Branch user. Staff seat behind the reception. It answers, transfers, holds, parks, joins a 3-way call, and works with a headset through the right EHS cable.

This is why project buyers like it. The receptionist may need an operator-style Fanvil phone. Managers may ask for colour screens. But the other thirty desks usually need two line appearances, PoE, a clear screen, and predictable provisioning. The X1SP keeps the phone schedule controlled without dropping the office to an unknown handset.

Vector Digital Systems supplies the Fanvil X1SP from Dubai for UAE projects and MEA export. For project quantities, we stage the phones before dispatch: extension registered, provisioning template applied, line labels checked, test calls made, and carton labels matched to the desk list. That matters when the installer has one evening to complete a handover.

2 SIP lines — what that number means on a staff desk

A SIP line on the Fanvil X1SP is not the same as a telephone trunk. It is a registered account or call appearance on the phone. The X1SP has 2 SIP lines, so it can register the staff extension and handle a second call appearance for call waiting, hold, transfer, or a second account where the PABX design needs it.

Example from a real office layout: a staff user in Dubai has extension 214. They receive an inbound call, place it on hold, call the warehouse desk, then transfer. That is normal 2-line desk-phone work. They do not need 12 or 20 lines for that. The number of external calls the company can make is controlled by the PABX and Etisalat or du SIP trunk capacity, not by the printed line count on one handset.

Sizing guide for X1SP

Choose X1SP for staff desks that need 1 main extension, occasional second-call handling, transfer, hold, conference, and PoE. Do not choose it for reception desks that must watch many users before transferring. Send us your desk list on WhatsApp and we confirm the right model mix.

This is the phone-buying trap: buyers often oversize line count. A 2-line desk phone is enough for many staff seats. A receptionist needs DSS and BLF keys more than extra SIP lines. A manager may want a bigger colour screen. A call centre agent may need a different headset-focused model. The X1SP is for the large middle of the office.

The useful details buyers miss

The first useful detail is EHS headset support. The X1SP supports wireless headset control through compatible EHS cabling, including Fanvil EHS20 for supported Jabra bases. That lets the user answer and end calls from the headset base instead of lifting the handset all day. For support desks, admin teams, and sales coordinators, this matters more than a bigger display.

The second useful detail is audio. The X1SP supports G.722 and Opus wideband codecs, with HD voice on handset and speakerphone. In plain terms: when the PABX, trunk, and far end allow wideband audio, speech sounds less thin. Staff hear names, numbers, and addresses more clearly. In noisy offices, that reduces repeated questions.

The third useful detail is the phonebook. A 1000-entry local phonebook and 1000-entry remote phonebook support are enough for many company directories. We can load shared contacts during staging so the user is not typing names one by one after installation.

The fourth detail is desk angle. The stand has two angles, 45 degrees and 50 degrees. Small point. But on a cramped reception back desk, retail counter, or shared admin table, screen angle decides whether the user reads caller ID at a glance or keeps leaning forward.

For the replacement wave without saying every desk needs a big phone

Many UAE offices are replacing older analogue or digital PABX handsets room by room. The common request is simple: “Give us IP phones, but don’t overspend on every desk.” That is exactly the X1SP lane. It gives SIP registration, PoE, call handling, headset support, and a screen, while leaving the budget for the seats that truly need larger displays or BLF pages.

For a mixed Fanvil deployment, we usually map the office by role. X1SP for staff desks. X1SG where gigabit passthrough is required. X303 or X301 family where the project wants newer entry models across the floor. X210 for reception. The result is a phone schedule that matches the real desk, not a one-model order copied across the whole company. See the Fanvil IP phone range in Dubai for the full desk-role ladder.

Power and network truth

The Fanvil X1SP is the PoE variant in the X1S family. That is the reason for the “P” suffix. It connects to the network through dual 10/100 Mbps ports: one network port and one PC passthrough port. The phone does not have gigabit ports, so do not place it behind a workstation that needs gigabit speed from the same wall point. Use it where 10/100 passthrough is acceptable, or give the PC a separate data point.

For a normal office voice VLAN, 10/100 is enough for the phone itself. Voice traffic is light. The real decision is the computer behind the phone. If the desk user works on email, ERP, CRM, or light browser tasks, X1SP passthrough may be fine. If the user moves large files, CAD data, video, design files, or backup traffic through the same point, quote a gigabit Fanvil model instead.

Power adapter is not included with X1SP

The X1SP is built for PoE. The official X1SP table shows PoE supported and the power adapter not included. If your switch is not PoE, add the 5V Fanvil power adapter to the same quote so the installer does not discover a missing desk power supply during handover.

DC input is 5V/0.6A. Power consumption is low: 0.9–1.65W idle and 1.8–2.95W peak. That makes the X1SP easy to place on a PoE switch budget across many desks. We still check the switch model and port count before quoting a batch. A 48-port switch full of phones, access points, and cameras should not be sized by hope.

Current capability notes from the manufacturer sweep

The X1SP is a mature entry-level model, so the important buyer detail is not a new button or new screen. The important detail is that the current manufacturer documents still show the practical office features that many UAE supplier pages skip: Opus and G.722 wideband audio, SIP over UDP, TCP, and TLS, SRTP, IPv4 and IPv6 modes, VLAN, LLDP, 802.1x, OpenVPN, L2TP, TR-069, and provisioning through FTP, TFTP, HTTP, HTTPS, DHCP option 66, SIP PNP, and TR-069.

That matters for integrators. It means the X1SP is not only a “cheap phone.” It can sit in a managed voice network with VLAN tagging, provisioning templates, security settings, and remote phonebook import. For a multi-site rollout from Dubai to branches in Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, or Ras Al Khaimah, those are the details that stop a low-cost desk phone from becoming a site-support burden.

No manufacturer notice reviewed for this build showed a new X1SP-specific hardware capability added in the last 12–18 months. So this page does not present any new model feature as current. The page focuses on verified current capability: 2 SIP lines, PoE, 128×48 display, HD voice, EHS support, 10/100 passthrough, local and remote phonebook support, 600 call logs, and project staging from Dubai.

Platform compatibility in Dubai

The X1SP registers as a SIP phone on common office PABX platforms used in UAE projects, including 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, and Asterisk. It can also be configured for Etisalat and du business SIP services when the design uses licensed SIP service directly or through the customer PABX.

Vector Digital Systems does not ship project phones as unopened boxes unless the buyer asks for box-only supply. For project quantities, we stage the phones. Extension credentials are entered. Provisioning templates are applied. The line keys are labelled. The phonebook or remote directory path is checked. Test calls are made. Then phones are packed by desk number, floor, branch, or department.

That staging step is why a Dubai system integrator can use X1SP across a 30-desk fit-out without spending the install day typing settings into every phone. For multi-site PABX work, see our PABX system Dubai page, then send the extension schedule with model counts.

Frequently asked questions

Will the Fanvil X1SP work with our 3CX / Grandstream UCM / Yeastar?

Yes. The X1SP is a standard SIP desk phone and can register to 3CX, Grandstream UCM, Yeastar, Asterisk, and other SIP-based PABX platforms. Vector Digital Systems stages the phone from Dubai with the correct extension settings, provisioning path, and test calls before dispatch when ordered for a project.

Does the Fanvil X1SP come with a power adapter, or do I need PoE?

The X1SP supports PoE and the official model table shows the power adapter is not included. Use a PoE switch for one-cable desk installation. If the site has non-PoE switches, ask us to include the 5V Fanvil power adapter in the same quote.

What does 2 SIP lines actually mean — can I make 2 calls at once?

2 SIP lines means two registered accounts or call appearances on the phone. It helps a staff user hold one call, receive another, transfer, or use a second account if the PABX is designed that way. It does not mean the company has two outside calls; outside call capacity is controlled by the PABX and Etisalat or du trunk service.

Fanvil X1SP vs X1S — what is the difference?

The key difference is power. X1S does not support PoE and ships with a power adapter. X1SP supports PoE and does not include the adapter. Choose X1SP for project desks where power comes from the PoE switch and the desk should have one cable.

Does Vector Digital Systems configure the phones before delivery?

Yes. For project quantities, we stage the X1SP before dispatch: extension registration, provisioning template, line labels, phonebook or directory settings, and test calls. Phones can be labelled by desk, user, department, branch, or floor for faster installation.

Is the Fanvil X1SP covered under Fanvil warranty in the UAE?

Yes. Fanvil manufacturer warranty is handled through Vector Digital Systems for supported UAE projects and export supply. Warranty handling, replacement coordination, and supplier documentation can be included for procurement teams.

Is VoIP legal in the UAE and will X1SP work with Etisalat or du?

Business VoIP using licensed Etisalat and du services is the normal UAE setup under TRA regulation. The X1SP can register through a PABX connected to Etisalat or du SIP service, or in supported cases as a SIP endpoint in the business voice design. We configure it for licensed business use.

Do you give project pricing for 50 Fanvil X1SP phones?

Yes. Send the quantity, delivery emirate, PABX platform, PoE switch status, and whether you need staging. We quote project pricing for 10+, 25+, and 50+ units with VAT breakdown, delivery, adapter add-ons if needed, and optional installation.
