Cloud PBX Dubai — cloud-connected phone systems on licensed Etisalat and du lines, installed by Vector Digital Systems

Cloud PBX Dubai — Your Number Can't Live in the Cloud. Your Team Can.

Every vendor in Dubai sells "cloud PBX". Almost none of them tell you where your phone number is legally allowed to live.

Here is the reality nobody puts on the landing page: UAE business numbers live only on licensed Etisalat and du lines. The overseas model — rent seats on someone's platform, numbers included — does not legally exist here. What works, and what we install, keeps the voice layer licensed and puts everything else in the cloud: your extensions, your apps, your team, anywhere on Earth.

Two honest architectures cover every business we meet — and neither one involves monthly per-user rent. Vector Digital Systems has installed phone systems across the UAE since 2009.

CLOUD PBX  ·  THE HONEST PICTURE

What Cloud PBX Actually Means in the UAE

In the UAE, a cloud PBX is not a phone system rented from an overseas platform — it is your own system on licensed Etisalat or du lines, with the cloud carrying your extensions to any device, anywhere. That one correction changes what you should buy.

Every compliant cloud phone system here has two layers. The voice layer — your numbers, your SIP trunks, the actual carriage of calls — belongs to the licensed carriers, e& and du, by law. Nobody else may carry it: not a US platform, not a European one, not a grey-market reseller with cheap "UAE numbers" that are really foreign DIDs. The software layer — call routing, apps, AI receptionist, recording, analytics — is where modern systems live, and it is unrestricted.

So when a landing page promises "hosted PBX, no hardware, numbers in our cloud," read it carefully: or the numbers are not real UAE numbers at all. What actually fits this market — keeps your numbers legal and your system yours — is the next section.

The startup with no server room

Six people in JLT, no IT staff, clients to answer. A compact cloud-connected unit under a desk, apps on every phone, office number live from day one — owned, not rented.

The owner with three branches

Karama, Marina, Sharjah — one receptionist. All three branches become one system: she answers without knowing which branch was called, transfers in one touch, missed calls land on a report.

The software-first team

Web client, mobile apps, AI receptionist, queues, CRM — the full software experience on 3CX: your server, or our pre-configured appliance, in your office.

THE PLATFORMS  ·  THREE WE INSTALL

The Platforms Behind the Two Ways — Chosen for How You Work

The architecture is the shape; the platform is the engine. We install three, every one on licensed Etisalat or du lines, every one from Dubai stock — and the survey settles which one fits, in writing.

Yeastar P-Series

The tidy appliance — the cloud-connected own system at its simplest. Linkus apps on every extension from day one, an embedded hotel module for properties, call queues and recording built in, and an AI receptionist on current firmware. The platform we reach for when an office wants everything working without ever thinking about a server.

The Yeastar page →

Grandstream UCM6300

The buy-once workhorse — every feature included permanently, no annual licence for the core system. RemoteConnect carries your apps anywhere, OPERA PMS integration for hotels, WhatsApp integration on current firmware, and queues, recording and CRM pop-up all in the box. The platform when the three-year arithmetic says ownership must mean ownership.

The Grandstream PBX page →

3CX

The full software suite — on your server or our pre-configured appliance. Web client and mobile apps, the AI layer (Receptionist, Personal Assistant, Agents, Transcription), call queues with callback, and Microsoft Teams Direct Routing. We hold 3CX Titanium — the highest partner tier, verifiable with 3CX directly.

The 3CX page →

Torn between the three? We install all of them, so the comparison carries no agenda: Grandstream vs Yeastar vs 3CX — decided honestly →

All three on licensed lines, all three stocked and staged in Dubai, all three supported by the same engineers after handover. The comparison that decides between them — including the AI layer — is on our PBX phone system Dubai page.

THE COST TRUTH  ·  NO FIGURES, JUST MATH

The Cost Structure Nobody Explains Before You Sign

The honest surprise of the cloud-connected model: you buy the system once, and the cloud part comes with it. The mobile apps, the remote extensions, the answer-from-anywhere access — Grandstream includes it permanently with no licence fees, and Yeastar and 3CX include it in their platforms. After that, your only monthly costs are your Etisalat or du lines — the lines you already pay for today.

Subscription cloud plans price the same convenience the other way: per user, per month, forever. For some very small teams that trade can work — no hardware, one invoice. For most growing businesses, the arithmetic over three years belongs to ownership: the rent never stops, and the system is never yours.

We quote per setup, because the real number depends on your team size, branches and how your people work. What we will always show you is the structure side by side — one-time ownership against perpetual rent — itemised, in writing, the same working day.

One honest reassurance. When the system lives in your office, it keeps working even on the manufacturer's cloud's worst day — desk phones keep ringing, lines stay up. The apps are the bonus, not the dependency.

THE WORKING DAY  ·  WHAT CHANGES

What the Cloud Layer Actually Does for Your Team

The 7 PM enquiry reaches you at home. A customer calls after hours, and the call finds the owner on his mobile — same office number, same greeting. He answers over dinner, and the deal that would have gone cold by morning stays.

The salesman stops giving out his personal number. His extension lives on his phone. He answers the office line from a viewing, dials back from the app, and the customer sees the company number — the relationship belongs to the company, not to a SIM card.

The AI receptionist takes the calls you keep missing. Around the clock, in multiple languages: it greets, answers from your own business information, books and routes — and hands a human the calls that matter. Lunch hour stops costing you customers.

Branches stop being separate phone systems. One dial plan across every site: short extensions between offices, transfers that actually connect, one directory, and internal calls that cost nothing — in Sharjah, or in another country.

We run our own company between Dubai and Kochi on exactly this design, every working day. Ask on WhatsApp and we will transfer your call between our desks while you stay on the line — two minutes, no sales pitch.

One office number answered at a Dubai reception desk and on a mobile phone outdoors — cloud-connected phone system
One office number, every location — answered at reception, or on the move.
COMPLIANCE  ·  THE BUYER'S CHECKLIST

Four Questions to Ask Any Cloud PBX Provider — Including Us

The UAE's regulator, the TDRA, allows only licensed operators to carry business voice. That single fact turns provider selection into four questions — and any provider who answers them clearly is worth your time.

1 · Where do my numbers come from?

The only right answer: provisioned through licensed carrier channels. Grey-routed foreign numbers presented as "UAE numbers" are how businesses end up unreachable one morning with no porting path back. Our answer: your numbers are provisioned and ported through Etisalat or du, in your company's name.

2 · How do my calls reach the public network?

The answer must name a licensed UAE operator — not an offshore gateway. Our answer: every call goes out through your licensed e& or du SIP trunks. Nothing bypassed, nothing grey.

3 · Can you port my existing numbers?

A legitimate provider describes the porting path through carrier channels without hesitation. Our answer: two to four weeks, coordinated with e& or du, trade licence and account documents — handled by us.

4 · Where is my call data stored?

Call recordings and customer data fall under the UAE's data-protection law (PDPL). Our answer: on your own system in your office — or on your own server or appliance in your office. Your data never leaves your premises unless you ask it to.

From First Call to Live System — No Surprises

Survey — free

Tell us your team size, branches and how your people actually work. We test your internet line and recommend one of the two architectures — in writing, with the honest trade-off of the other one.

Lines provisioned

We order and configure your Etisalat or du SIP trunks, and coordinate the porting of your existing numbers. Nothing goes live until the lines test clean.

System built on our bench

Your unit — appliance or your own server — is configured, every extension and app labelled with the name of the person who will use it, and tested before it ships.

Live in a day, trained for an hour

Phones plug in, apps sign in, the office number works from desks and mobiles the same morning. Your receptionist learns the console on her own desk. Same-day support after that.

A small office is typically live in one to two days; branches and appliance deployments inside a week. The only thing we need from you: working internet, power, and ten minutes of someone's time.

CLOUD PBX DUBAI  ·  QUESTIONS

Cloud PBX in the UAE — the Questions We Get Every Week

What is a cloud PBX?

A cloud PBX is a business phone system whose call control runs on servers reached over the internet, rather than on a box in your office — extensions, call routing, voicemail and apps all managed online. In the UAE the term needs one honest correction: your phone numbers cannot legally live on an overseas cloud platform, so what businesses here actually deploy is a cloud-connected system — your own PBX on licensed Etisalat or du lines, with the cloud carrying your extensions to any device, anywhere.

Is cloud PBX legal in the UAE?

Yes — when the voice layer runs through licensed UAE carriers. The TDRA allows only licensed operators (Etisalat and du) to carry business phone numbers and calls to the public network, so every compliant cloud setup keeps its SIP trunks with them; the software layer on top — apps, call routing, AI receptionist, analytics — is unrestricted. What is not legal is routing UAE business calls through unlicensed overseas platforms or grey-market virtual numbers. Every system we install keeps your numbers on licensed e& or du lines.

Is WhatsApp calling an option for business calls in the UAE?

Not as your phone system. WhatsApp voice calls are restricted on standard UAE connections because WhatsApp is not a licensed telecom provider — fine for internal chats, unreliable and non-compliant as the way your business answers customers. The compliant path gives you the same convenience through the system's own app: your team answers the office number from any phone, anywhere, on licensed lines. WhatsApp messaging integration into your call inbox is possible on the platforms we install — calls are the restricted part, not messages.

What is the difference between cloud PBX and cloud-connected PBX?

In a textbook cloud PBX, an outside provider hosts the entire system and carries your numbers on their platform — common in Europe and the US, and not legally available for UAE numbers. In a cloud-connected PBX — the UAE model — the system is yours, typically a compact unit in your office wired to licensed Etisalat or du lines, and the manufacturer's secure cloud (Grandstream RemoteConnect, Yeastar Linkus Cloud, 3CX) carries your extensions to apps and devices anywhere. Same everyday experience for your team; your numbers stay legal and the system stays yours.

Cloud PBX or on-premise — which is better for my business in Dubai?

In the UAE it is rarely either-or. A cloud-connected own system covers most businesses of 5–50: one-time purchase, apps included, no per-user rent. Subscription cloud plans suit some very small teams that accept per-user monthly billing on the provider's terms. 3CX on your server or a pre-configured appliance suits software-first teams wanting the full software and AI experience, with their data staying in their own office. The honest recommendation depends on team size, branches and how your people actually work — that is what the free survey settles, in writing.

How much does a cloud phone system cost in Dubai?

It depends on the architecture, and we quote per setup rather than print a number that would not fit your office. The cost shape is the honest part: a cloud-connected system is a one-time purchase — system, phones, installation — with apps included and no per-user monthly licence from us; your only recurring costs are your Etisalat or du lines. Subscription cloud plans charge per user per month, forever. Send your team size and how your people work on WhatsApp, and an itemised quote comes back the same working day.

Can I keep my existing phone numbers with a cloud system?

Yes. Your numbers belong to your Etisalat or du account, and they stay with you through either of the two architectures — ported or re-terminated by the carrier, typically in two to four weeks with your trade licence and account documents. We coordinate the whole process so your published numbers never change.

Can my team answer our Dubai number from another country?

Yes. Extensions on a cloud-connected system register from anywhere with internet — a laptop in London, a mobile in Kochi — answering and dialing on your UAE company number through the system's apps, while the calls still reach the public network through your licensed Etisalat or du lines in Dubai. To the caller it is simply your office answering. We run our own company between Dubai and Kochi on exactly this design, every working day.

Which areas in the UAE does Vector Digital Systems cover?

In Dubai we cover the main business districts and communities including Business Bay, Downtown Dubai, Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), Dubai Marina, Jumeirah Lakes Towers (JLT), Sheikh Zayed Road, Deira, Bur Dubai, Al Quoz, Al Barsha, Barsha Heights, Al Garhoud, Al Jaddaf, Oud Metha, Ras Al Khor Industrial Area, Al Nahda, Mirdif, Jumeirah, International City, Discovery Gardens, Jumeirah Village Circle (JVC), Arabian Ranches, Motor City, Dubai Internet City, Dubai Media City, Dubai Production City, Dubai Outsource City, Dubai Silicon Oasis, Dubai Healthcare City, Dubai Maritime City, Dubai Festival City, Dubai World Trade Centre, Dubai Investment Park, Dubai South, Jebel Ali and Jebel Ali Free Zone (JAFZA). In Abu Dhabi we serve the city plus Khalifa City, Mohammed Bin Zayed City, Musaffah, Industrial City of Abu Dhabi (ICAD), Yas Island, Saadiyat Island and Al Reem Island. Sharjah coverage includes Sharjah Industrial Area, SAIF Zone, and Al Nahda, Sharjah; we also serve Ajman Free Zone (AFZ), Ajman Industrial Area, RAK Free Trade Zone, and the Port of Fujairah. Same-day on-site response across Dubai, with remote setup and support available UAE-wide and for overseas extensions as of 2026.

Do you deploy cloud-connected phone systems outside the UAE?

Yes — systems are configured and tested in Dubai and deployed to Oman, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Mauritania, Mauritius, Morocco, Mozambique, Rwanda, Senegal, South Africa, South Sudan, Sudan, Tanzania, Tunisia, Zambia, Zimbabwe, Algeria, Burkina Faso, Côte d'Ivoire, Malawi, Burundi, Djibouti, Togo, Benin, Gabon, Chad, Seychelles, Angola, Uganda, Kenya, Nigeria, Cameroon, Egypt, Ethiopia, and Ghana. The hardware ships configured, your team plugs it in, and we bring it live remotely; local phone numbers come from the licensed carrier in each country, while the dial plan unites all your offices. Remote support continues after go-live.

What internet speed do I need for cloud calling?

Less than most people fear. A voice call needs roughly 100 kbps of stable bandwidth each way — ten simultaneous calls fit comfortably on a basic business fibre line. What matters is stability, not speed: low jitter and no packet loss. We configure voice priority (QoS) on your network so calls stay clean even when the office is busy downloading, and the free survey tests your line before we recommend anything.

Can we run 3CX in the cloud instead of on-premise?

Not in the UAE. Business lines from Etisalat and du connect to equipment inside your building, so an overseas cloud-hosted system cannot reach them — and we do not offer data-centre hosting: every system we install runs at your location. What we provide for 3CX is a pre-configured appliance, staged and tested in Dubai before it reaches you, or installation on your own server. You still get the cloud experience through the apps and web client — but the system itself stays in your office, with your recordings and your data, and no hosting fee.

Does a cloud phone system include an AI receptionist?

Yes — on the platforms we install. The AI receptionist answers around the clock in multiple languages, greets callers, answers common questions from your own business information, books or routes what it can, and transfers to a human when needed. It resolves the routine calls so your team handles the ones that matter — and it works the same on desk phones, mobile apps and 3CX appliances alike.

What happens to our phones if the internet goes down?

On a cloud-connected system, the desk phones keep working — the PBX lives in your office on licensed lines, so basic calling continues during an internet outage, and calls can fail over to mobile apps on 4G/5G or a GSM backup. The apps pause; the phone system does not. We design the failover into the system before it is ever needed.

Cloud PBX or Microsoft Teams calling — which should we choose?

They answer different needs. Teams calling suits companies already living in Microsoft 365 who want calls inside that app — delivered through Direct Routing on licensed UAE SIP trunks, which we configure. A cloud-connected PBX suits businesses that want a dedicated phone system with reception consoles, call queues, recording and an AI receptionist, independent of any single app. Many offices run both — the phone system as the backbone, Teams for the staff who live in it. We deploy either, and the survey tells you honestly which fits.
